According to a report from Orlando, FL, a WKMG photographer was the victim of a near fatal Carbon Monoxide incident while working in a live truck Wednesday. A fellow WKMG photographer, who was dispatched to the Cocoa Beach location found the victime passed out and foaming at the mouth inside the ENG truck.
When the photographer was removed from the truck he awoke, but then collapsed.
One person reported the CO alarm was sounding when the photographer was discovered.
The Cocoa Beach Fire department is investigating the accident. Investigators on the scene said the CO levels were off the charts and the photographer would likely be dead or could of suffered serious brain injury if the exposure was longer.
My favorite satirical newspaper is breaking into the TV news biz. According to Wired Magazine, Onion Inc. will produce a weekly newscast with a production staff of 15 new employees.

As a huge fan of comedy that mocks our business… welcome to the fray.
I’m starting to think that winters in Washington, DC are not too bad after all.
A crew from Australian and British TV just wrapped up 2 months in Antarctica shooting a documentary on polar explorer Douglas Mawson.
Granted, it is summer down there, but with an average temperature of 36°F (2°C), the ice-covered wasteland isn’t becoming a Spring Break hangout anytime soon.
Crew member Wade Fairley has posted a blog about the crew’s adventures shooting with the Sony XDCAM HD (PDW-350) and Fujinon XS13×3.3.
The blog, XDCAMHDAntarctica, has all the specifics, in very interesting detail.
If this gear can handle Antarctica, it shouldn’t have any problem with a wee little snowstorm here in the states.
Running a site dedicated to television photography, I sometimes forget that the more important part of that title is PHOTOGRAPHY.
After nearly a year without updates, the b-roll.net PHOTOS section lives again. A new software upgrade allows us to show you all the images you know and love (yes, the b-roll GIRLS are still there), along with new and more timely shots.
