KOB-TV Crew Wins Emmy for Run-In with Dumper

Congratulations to reporter Jeremy Jojola and news videographer Jeremy Fine of KOB-TV for putting together an Emmy Award winning Investigative Report on Illegal Dumping in the New Mexico desert.

At the October 4, 2008 Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards Ceremony, they walked away with the statues, but not without putting their life in danger first.

While producing the story and trying to approach a man illegally dumping trash in the desert, the subject almost ran them over and did ram into their vehicle. Watch the story here.

Carlos Miller at “Photography is Not a Crime” has more on the story.

Because Fine was able to capture the man’s license plate on camera, police ended up arresting him on five felony counts.

Congrats to Photographer Jeremy Fine for keeping a cool head - and a rolling camera.

Be safe out there…
