Operate and maintain portable ENG equipment including Sony Betacam for live and taped video for broadcast on CNN and its numerous outlets. Capture and mix live audio. Interface with talent and public figures during; interviews, stand-ups and long-format shows. Provide coverage on breaking news stories. Lighting for single and multi-camera shoots both in-studio and on-location. Studio Camera Operator for Larry King Live, Crossfire and other shows. Operate portable and truck-based microwave transmitters and receivers.
1985-1987 Studio Technician: Prime Cable of MD
Supervised all aspects of operation of ¾ inch production studio with on/off-line editing suites and live soundstage with switchable multi-camera set-up. Performed basic maintenance and repair of portable and studio cameras. Instructed public access users and scheduled studio and rental time. Operated studio camera, switcher and multi-channel audio board for local origination productions including; talk shows, exercise shows, commercials, public affairs and long-format entertainments. Edited and provided instruction on Sony ¾ inch linear editing systems. Developed programming for production and broadcast. Local sports location productions.

Wrote, directed, lit, and shot , edited commercials, promotions, sales presentations and short features for closed-cast, in-store, multi-location television network. Installed and maintained monitors and loop play-back, ½ inch decks. Consulted with clients to write and develop commercial scripts. Assemble edited tapes for system broadcast. Maintained basic ¾ inch portable video production equipment.
1982-1984 Chief Photographer, Production: WTOV-TV (NBC)
Shot, lit and edited commercials and promos for in-house creative services at local NBC affiliate in Steubenville, OH. Maintained RCA TK-86 camera and ¾ inch video-recording decks. Mixed, gathered and created sound for local commercial productions. Supervised 2 part-time assistants. Provided coverage of local sports and social events. Shot and developed 35mm slides for on-air use. Shot and developed black and white still photos of talent, productions, events and client portraits for publicity in local print media.

While at I.U.P. I held a work-study position with CIUP-TV and WIUP-FM. As News Director at CIUP-TV I oversaw production of a weekly student-produced news broadcast; DATA SOURCE. I received an Outstanding Director Award for my series; VIDEO THEATRE. I was Jazz Producer and D.J. at WIUP-FM. In 1981 I was Director of Operations for a 14 person video crew covering the 1981 AIAW Track and Field Championships and the Chief Videographer for the Center for Alternative Studies “ROBERT SHAW” documentary.
