I just stumbled upon this from Scientific American Contributing Editor, Christie Nicholson‘s Twitter feed. yellowBird, a company from The Netherlands, has created a system for 360° VR moving video. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I’ll let this clip do the talking.
I’m sure a commercially feasible system is a few years off, but I can totally see this as an added feature for TV news.
Imagine if you could live stream this image from the next big visual spot news scene. No need to worry about pointing the camera in the right direction.
Voyeuristic viewers will love it.
