Cold feet in a hot war

If the dope sheet in the University of South Carolina’s archives about John “Bocky” Bockhorst’s footage of the August 16th, 1944 capture of Chartres is indeed correct with the notion of John Dored, the journos you see hiding behind a jeep during street fighting in the Movietone newsreel might possibly be the ones who ditched Dored at their next stop on the road to Paris.

In my personal files, I have a letter John Dored wrote to a Major Pelegrin begging for a vehicle that he didn’t have to share with other journalists as a result of the five correspondent’s cold feet in covering a hot war.
