I’m new to the world of being my own boss, and I need advice. I don’t have business insurance. I did a job for a production company about 18 months ago — the client was unhappy with the work and the company refunded the $2,400 charge for the project. The production co. owner filed a claim with his insurance (CNA) and now the insurance company has requested reimbursement of the full $2,400 from the subcontractor (me). I did sign a contract with the production company agreeing to their policies and procedures and agreeing that they will be held harmless. (Sounds like I’m screwed, right?!)

If anyone has experience with a case like mine, I would greatly appreciate your help. I’ve been looking around online for free legal advice, but I thought this community would have more insights into this type of situation. Thanks!
