Waiting for the President

Chicago newsreel cameramen waiting for President Truman to speak at the April 6,  1946 Army Day observance in Chicago.

Notice the media credentials shoved in the hat band of the cameramen on the left. The old Hollywood journalist stereotype was actually based upon a real practice, not artistic license.

From the camera of the photographers in attendance (likely Tony Caputo), some of the footage of the event can be found here.
