At a local meeting with residents a staffer of local Congressman attempted to use public pressure to stop folks from videotaping the meeting. Even though the Congressman stood by initially, at least he stood up and stopped it right before push came to shove.
No – folks don’t want to be recorded – but they should be aware that in a public place in a public meeting that is something they sacrifice. And taking rights away by public "vote" also isn’t allowed. If that was a vote, why should the few override the "vote" of the vast majority?
