Why did WGN photog Arvid Carlson decided to go swimming with a Filmo back in 1969? Novel angle for a story perhaps? Eh, who knows? Though GoPro has a nice little waterproof camera for those types of shots these days…

Not going to name any names, but I will point out that Filmo after being dried out was likely still usable since there are no electronics in it though the lenses were probably a different story…as for the film, depending on what type it is and how it was handled after being soaked, it very likely could have been salvaged.

Okay to be truthful, the story behind this photo is Arvid actually accidentally fell into the pool when a guardrail broke.
