Clearing Out the Attic I (laughingly) Call My Mind.

July 14, 2012 photog blogs

Trying my best to just get photos posted and a few words written.  The technology should be better by now, but I’m still having the kind of trouble with my blogging platforms and posting apps that I haven’t seen in years.

I can remember when blogger could actually lose a post randomly.  That sucked.

Anyway, here’s a few recent Instagram photos that never made it to the blog.

It was a stolen car accident. Not sure how many of these I’ve covered during the course of my news career, but they still happen. We sometimes still cover them.

As I remember it, I sprayed the scene and headed back to the station.

Tragedy on the 4th of July.  A 10 year old girl and her father were hit by a suspected drunk driver as they set off fireworks in the street in front of their home.
The girl was killed and her father was hospitalized.
This is why people who work in news can be very paranoid around the holidays when drinking to excess is considered normal.  Covered the story last week, but I can’t even remember the name of the little girl and I’m a little shamed by that.
My regular memory has never been what you would call “photographic” and my news memory seems to be suffering a bit lately.
I can barely remember what the point of this press conference was that actually had Mayor Villaraigosa and a Councilman in attendance.
By barely, I mean not at all.
I don’t believe any of my memory loss is directly attributable to my recent discovery of Moose Drool beer.
It might have more to do with the long hours I work and the time I spend in bumper to bumper traffic.
My days might come and go like a whirlwind, but I can usually depend on about two hours travel time round trip to work and then add in whatever time it takes me to chase the story I’m working on.
Yesterday, I know I was in Corona and today I was downtown working on a sidebar to the Occupy LA dust-up at the Los Angeles ArtWalk.
I’d have to think on it to tell you where I was the day before.  Yeah, I know.  Could be I’m getting old, but that can’t be it.
I’ve always been like this.
