I freelance in the Dallas / Ft. Worth market and occasionally freelance at one of the news shops in town. Within the past couple of months, I’ve had conversations with photogs at two different shops that tell me they freelance with their station "take home" gear.

I’d call the chiefs at both stations and blow the whistle, but it would be very hard to prove just based on "idle chat".

Still infuriates me that I’m being undercut by tools using free gear.

Whew! Got THAT off my chest.
