Last night I worked the overnight shift for the first tine for LNS here in Dallas. Holy crap I had no idea what I was in for. I thought it would be listening to scanners, running on breaking news, and just feeding it out. Yes, I did all those things but also found myself essentially becoming a reporter at the scene, having to keep about 15 people at three different stations informed in real time while also coordinating feeds. Last night consisted of two 2-alarm fires and an officer involved shooting that happened just before most stations morning newscasts begun. Talk about a wild and stressful morning. Just thought I’d share my experience of being a LNS photographer for one night.
