I have been scouring the internet looking at articles about contemporary electronic cinematography technologies to learn more about contemporary cameras and how they process images. Back in the days of Betacam I really tried to develop a basic but strong understanding of electronic cameras because I believe knowledge is power — of a sort — in that the more you know, the less mistakes you make when using electronic gear.
When I call the rental houses to order gear, the guy renting me the gear now knows more about it than I. It used to be the other way around. I’m falling behind.
Does anyone know any online resources that explain bit processing rates or color spacing or the essentials of how electronic images are now processed by today’s cameras?
