I just need to vent. The station just switched to HD, we shoot 1080i AVC-Intra50 and the AVID’s are now set up so the raster resolution is 1440×1080. Please note I have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER HOW THE STATION WANTS THE AVID SETTINGS.

Last night/early this morning was my first time using Avid since the switch. It took 1hr 15min to load 9 minutes of GoPro3 video. Consolidating my other footage was slower than a real time ingest. Finally, I couldn’t use ANY of my great dashcam weather video because its AVCHD and IT refuses to install the AVCHD plugin after I’ve been begging them to do so for 3 months now. Personally, for the price paid for Avid, I think ALL the codecs should have been installed on Avid before it even shipped.

Just frustrated with Avid all around right now. Took me 3 hours to load my video when it should have took 20 minutes. Oh how I miss FCP and CS6.
