Aereo is a new service causing lots of consternation for many traditional broadcast companies.
The head of CBS claims to be ready to quickly take the CBS network completely off the air, only available on cable, if Aereo is actually allowed to offer their service to consumers.

Frankly, I’ve often thought with the tighter economy, nothing would make the traditional networks happier than to shut down all their transmitters, with those associated costs of maintaining not only the physical equipment, but also the related FCC regulations and licensing costs. They would save a lot of money. Even be able to shed a few more employees too.
Technology keeps tossing out new surprises which some never considered possible. This looks like it may be another game changer. 😉
