In the April 1956 edition of RCA Broadcast News is an article about KOMO-TV’s then chief photog, Merl Serven and the results of Serven’s months of tinkering in a darkroom….color newsfilm developed in a mere ninety minutes instead of hours.
In addition to the usual self-congratulatory press release, KOMO’s General Manager Bill Warren allowed for the release of the developer recipe and processing instructions itself for the common good instead of keeping it for themselves.
The article itself describing how to develop Anscochrome color newsfilm under a news deadline can be found in the April 1956 edition starting on page 16.
