As part of a major upgrade here we’re looking at new editing software but with things the way they are we’re having a tough time forecasting what we will need for the long-term.

We currently have Avid Symphony and FCP 7 with all our media on a 3rd party server. Symphony replaced our older Media Composer and NewCutter machines but it’s still kind of buggy. I have a few questions for folks out there.

1. Who is using the Avid Isis system and are there issues or does it run smoothly? If there are issues, what are they?

2. How many folks are using Premiere or have made the move to it? Do you like it? Are there concerns with Adobe’s new revenue stream model?

3. Has anyone decided to go with Final Cut X and how is that working for you? We really aren’t we’re going to go that route but I’m interested in your experiences. I know it’s been talked about some on the board but if anyone has anything new to add that would be great.
