So, I saw in the news that the LAX shooting suspect is out of the hospital.
That was a extremely tough Dayana I wasn’t even at LAX.
I was in full SNG mode from the hospital where he’d been transported after his capture.
Not an easy shot at all, but with the help of Greg Webb, we managed to get Serene Branson and a hospital presser on LIVE.
My day started around 11:00am. The station called me in from home. . .or more accurately, brought me a SAT truck.
It was a long day.
Later in the evening, we swapped out our Gregs, trading Mr. Webb for Mr. Greg Polancic.
I dared much more than my comfort zone usually allows, but the presser in particular was of interest to the powers that be back at the station.
It all worked out. Nobody got hurt and none of the gear suffered much for our efforts.
The first couple of hours were challenging and difficult. Breaking news, no matter how many times we run that drill, is always throwing curves at us.
All we can do is be sharp and be ready and remember that it’s all part of what we do.
Some days we just have to work a little harder to get on TV.
