More PMW-F55 slow-mo

Here’s a short video I shot on Sunday. Partly just for fun, and partly because this is the first chance I’ve had to test the 2K center scan mode out in the real world with 240 fps HFR.

There’s no way for your to know what was shot with which lens and which scan mode, but I have a pretty good idea what was used for each shot. And my impression is that the center crop mode 2K HFR definately looks sharper, crisper, and cleaner than than the 2K Full Scan mode. If I had to do it all over again I would have shot the entire time with center scan turned on. I don’t own the optoional 2K OLPF (optical low pass filter) but I’m starting to think that I’m going to have to buy one soon because the 2K full scan just doesn’t look good enough when there’s a lot of contrast, fast motion, and detail.

Lenses used: RED 300mm prime, Zeiss LWZ 15.5-45, Sony 85mm (from the F3 kit).
