Rick Portier isn’t the only photog to have written fiction about the news photography business.

Many decades ago, Fred “Red” Felbinger, a newsreel cameraman for Paramount News, wrote a little story about a hapless soundman and his misadventures with both women and cameramen called “Roderick Giles, Noise Ketcher.”
