We have the Sony PMW-350 cameras, and last week I was hit with a conundrum about recording pool feeds. These cameras don’t have any sort of video-in recording capability (FYI the PMW-500 does.)

The PMW-EX30 deck has HDSDI inputs, but no analog XLR capability and no battery-powered capability. While it’s 12v, it’s still up to the engineers to build a battery adapter plate with a DC-DC converter for our 14.4v batteries and to convert XLR audio to unbalanced RCA.

Ended up borrowing a PDW-HR1 (XDCAM HD422 w/ SXS option,) but is that the only other option? Costs $20k. Yesh.
