The shooting today made me think about covering the 2007 shooting in Omaha, NB

But more about how one woman in the city had a vision in a dream, wrote a local radio station & a simple idea came to life in a showing of community support & healing.

I feel this article covers it pretty well, but doesn’t quite show how many snow flakes were put up. Nearly every inch of every wall at that end of the mall was just covered in these paper snow flakes.

To me I have tried to cover news stories impartially, without losing basic human emotions. Really tough stories are tough on my emotions. Even now, half a decade later, the shooting still saddens my heart, but the memory of these snow flakes gives me hope.
