I highly suspect this 1940s photo of a young man and his camera with a missing battery is of some Pathe News employee’s kid since he looks a little too young to be a union photog.

Though it is very likely this young man ended following his father’s career path behind a camera and would have ended up on one of two paths if he wanted to be a staffer since a decade later from when this photo was taken, newsreels were no longer a viable career path. It would have been a choice of TV news if he liked shooting news or Hollywood if he wanted to be creative.
