I’m looking for opinions from people on whether or not the effect "The Kid Stays in the Shot" is an unethical effect to use on still photos in news packages. For those of you unfamiliar with it is essentially where you take a still photo and cut out all the subjects in it to separate them from the background and add depth.
Here’s an example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbBSvFUugRo
Now, obviously that is far more than I have been doing. I’ve found that it helps enhance a story beyond the same old slow zoom in or out on photos. So, what are your thoughts? Is it unethical to take a flat photo and manipulate it so it has more depth and movement to it?
