I’ve been assigned the task of finding out the best camera/camera setting/compression setting for posting hour long lecture videos to YouTube. I thought I would start here for suggestions and work my way out.

The workflow I am looking for is minimum effort, highest compression quality possible. One camera, steady on a stage, taking one large file, compressing it through MPEG Streamclip or a similar program and uploading to YouTube.

Probably looking at a ballpark budget on the camera in the 3k range.
