To me this is just crazy but maybe I am just getting old. I am at the Little League World Series in Williamsport working for a Cable sports channel. I have been here for just over a week and have come to know some of the media here. I met these 2 one man band guys working for 2 competing stations in the same market. I said "wow kind of tough to work by yourself at this pretty good size event" granted its not the Olympics or the Super bowl but descent. They replied "incredibly difficult so we decided to shoot for one another and help each other out". The are shooting each others Live shots via Dejero and Live u. Basically shooting the same stories at the same place so they can help each other out.

My head is spinning with this happening. Is this what is happening to local news now, these VJ’s are helping each other out in the field because companies are to cheap to hire photogs. The work load is too much for them to handle so they are teaming up to get it done!! I just don’t understand this and how is this allowed. Granted their Managers have no idea that this is going on but for crying out loud don’t they watch to see what every station in the market is doing. Can’t they pick up on the fact that these to VJ’s have pretty much the exact same story every night.

Wow!! is all I can come up with!!
