Sony Releases Full Frame A7S Mirrorless Camera With 4:2:2 4K Output
Here at NAB 2014 we got a chance to see Sony’s newest release marketed towards the DSLR video enthusiast. It’s called the Alpha 7S, and it’s sure to be very popular. 4k is the buzzword again for this NAB, and Sony’s newest launch fits the bill. The A7s records 25mbps AVCHD along with 50mpbs XAVC S. AJA reveals a new camera, AJA Cion at NAB 2014
AJA revealed a new camera to the world today at NAB 2014. The new camera, dubbed Cion, is 4K capable and aimed at filmmakers, TV series and broadcast production professionals. The AJA Cion incorporates a 4K APS-C sized CMOS sensor with an electronic global shutter, and offers 12-stops of dynamic range. It supports PL mount lenses, and in-camera ProRes recording. It can output AJA Raw via 3G-SDI at up to 4K 120 frames per second or via Thunderbolt at up to 4K 30 fps – and all for around $9,000.
