Error code help please.

NOT an emergency, just curious. My Sony BetaSX DNW-9WS is displaying "E-132" after I loaded a tape.

Did you get a "slack" error along with the code? it may mean the deck doesn't detect a pulse from the slack spindle side of the tape (left feed unrecorded side) The FG (IIRC, feed gate) pulse indicates to the CPU how fast to run the spindle servo.

I didn't notice "slack" on the screen. Would it have said that before displaying the error code? I didn't bother looking in the viewfinder, it's been that kind of month with this rig. The camera has had problems ejecting tape. The last time it was stuck, the black flap over the tape was closed while the cassette was still fully inside the camera. The deck controls (PLAY FF REW, RET button) did nothing, as if the camera didn't know a tape was inside.

The warning would be on the bottom of the LCD screen while the alarm beep sounds.

Thanks for your help. Engineers haven't looked at it yet, and I'm off tomorrow. We'll see what happens!
