DAY 4

April 10, 2002 4:32pm PT
Las Vegas Convention Center

Hectic last day to walk the floor of the convention hall. We took a few pictures to tell the story...

I met with Joe Torelli of Avid, who showed me some of cool editing products they have out this year. Soon the dream of a total server based newsroom will be realized in your shop. Even though it's been around for years, the Ikegami Editcam2 is now seeming more feasible as storage cost go down and use of firewire increases. Tape may soon be gone forever.
Buck had requested on the Message Board to see the camera models at NAB. We at b-roll.net aim to deliver. This is a beautiful model from one of the two Fujinon camera stages. This side had two beautiful live models, while the other stage simply had a manakin. Amazingly, the crowd only checked out this side. I'm sure it was because it the lenses were better.

Sony's section was so large it was dubbed Sony Hall. They had a map of just their booth, so you wouldn't get lost. Sony also had camera models, but they looked kind of like the guy on the right.

Bryan Tulwits shot this picture of me after a long day of walking. I think I'm going home after this trip and not walk for days. That may make up for the miles of travel my legs have seen this week.
